EMDR Therapy

EMDR Therapy is a psychotherapy designed to help people process and heal from traumatic or distressing memories. The therapist helps the individual focus on a traumatic memory while simultaneously guiding them through bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements, taps, or sounds. EMDR follows a structured 8-phase protocol to safely help individuals process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional impact This process is believed to stimulate the brain’s natural processing system, allowing the memory to be integrated in a way that is less emotionally intense. Individuals gradually reprocess the trauma, reducing distress and negative beliefs associated with it.
